Catch Report
A great deal of the current IGFA world records listed are as a result of only a small group of anglers submitting their catches. Far bigger specimens of most of the commonly caught species have been, and continue to be caught, by local anglers. Specimen hunting is still in it's infancy here in Thailand, traditionally fishing has been far more about food and fun!
Baits & tactics
Your Guides will assist you in adopting a host of different methods for fishing for your chosen species. For many of the predatory species Fly-fishing as well as the usual poppers and lures is growing in popularity. The chance of monster Carp in the wild will require special tactics, they are very hard to find, but for us that's part of the adventure!
Fighting Characteristics
Due to warm waters, many Thai species will give you a much better fight than UK equivalents pound for pound. Many species evolved in the seasonally fast running and flood torn waters of Thailand's vast river system. Your unlikely to catch a fish that fights any less hard than a Barbel!
Otherspecies Include - Carp, Catfish, Snakehead, Barramundi, and more!
As well as Thailand's world reknowned Giant Fish Species, the Lakes and Rivers are
blessed with a proliferation of other fish, just a very few of which are shown above. Many of the other Catfish species grow very large too, (in excess of 100LB) as
do the Carp/Barb Species which is part of the joy of fishing in Thailand,
so much undiscovered potential!
Below are some other species you might expect to catch.

Chaophraya Giant Catfish (Pangasianodon) from 2 kg to 30 kg +
Pacu (Collossoma spp.) from 2kg to 9 kg
